Jaan means you know the person and pehchan means you can recognize the person but not necessarily know them
ReplyDeleteJaan means you know the person and pehchan means you can recognize the person but not necessarily know them
ReplyDeleteJaan and pehchan... If a droplet of water approaches your tongue, you can know ( pehchan) that it is a droplet of water because of its ostensive appeance. When it rests on your tongue and quenches your thirst, it is known as जानना. Scientific pehchan is H2o ,but जानना is something to be experienced subjectively by self being.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much. Jagjit & Chitra also sang a further stanza. Any chance you can translate this too? Dhanyavaad 🙏
