Preface : As a student of Urdu Poetry, Come across a very unique style of writing & subject, which is strange enough, though properly understood but still to imbibe in its completeness.

वो हम-सफ़र था मगर उस से हम-नवाई न थी
कि धूप छाँव का आलम रहा जुदाई न थी
मोहब्बतों का सफ़र इस तरह भी गुज़रा था
शिकस्ता-दिल थे मुसाफ़िर शिकस्ता-पाई न थी
कभी ये हाल कि दोनों में यक-दिली थी बहुत
कभी ये मरहला जैसे कि आश्नाई न थी
न अपना रंज न औरों का दुख न तेरा मलाल
शब-ए-फ़िराक़ कभी हम ने यूँ गँवाई न थी
अदावतें थीं, तग़ाफ़ुल था, रंजिशें थीं बहुत
बिछड़ने वाले में सब कुछ था, बेवफ़ाई न थी
बिछड़ते वक़्त उन आँखों में थी हमारी ग़ज़ल
ग़ज़ल भी वो जो किसी को अभी सुनाई न थी
अजीब होती है राह-ए-सुख़न भी देख 'नसीर'
वहाँ भी आ गए आख़िर, जहाँ रसाई न थी
........... नसीर तुराबी

वो हम-सफ़र था मगर उस से हम-नवाई न थी

हम-नवाई : like mindedness
Companion (beloved) was a like a Co-Passanger, the relationship has good and fair times but hardly any like-mindedness between us.

मोहब्बतों का सफ़र इस तरह भी गुज़रा था
शिकस्ता-दिल थे मुसाफ़िर शिकस्ता-पाई न थी
शिकस्ता-दिल : broken hearted, distressed
शिकस्ता-पाई : broken feet
Love wrapped journey went like broken hearted traveller moving together but still has not willing to stop as feets were having the courage to move forward.

कभी ये हाल कि दोनों में यक-दिली थी बहुत
कभी ये मरहला जैसे कि आश्नाई न थी
यक-दिली : unanimity,concord
मरहला : a stage, an inn, a difficulty
आश्नाई : friendship, love, दोस्ती, संबंध
At times there was a concord in union, then there was a stage where hardly any existence of love remains.

न अपना रंज न औरों का दुख न तेरा मलाल
शब-ए-फ़िराक़ कभी हम ने यूँ गँवाई न थी
रंज : grief, sorrow, दुख
दुख : suffering, distress
मलाल : regret, grief, sorrow
शब-ए-फ़िराक़ : the night of separation
गँवाई : lose, throw away, waste
Neither any grief No suffering Nor any regret, though we were together but as good as separated, both had the patience to be in themselves but certainly not together.

अदावतें थीं, तग़ाफ़ुल था, रंजिशें थीं बहुत
बिछड़ने वाले में सब कुछ था, बेवफ़ाई न थी
अदावतें : enmity, animosity (plural)
तग़ाफ़ुल : neglect
रंजिशें : unpleasantness, affliction
बेवफ़ाई : faithlessness, treachery
The relationship has animosity, neglect, unpleasantness even though at the time of separation faithful to each other.

बिछड़ते वक़्त उन आँखों में थी हमारी ग़ज़ल
ग़ज़ल भी वो जो किसी को अभी सुनाई न थी
At the time of separation, beloved's eyes were having the inspiration for my next poem, which is still to come in existence.

अजीब होती है राह-ए-सुख़न भी देख 'नसीर'
वहाँ भी आ गए आख़िर, जहाँ रसाई न थी
अजीब : strange, astonishing
राह-ए-सुख़न : way of poetry / art.
'नसीर' : the Poet नसीर तुराबी
रसाई : access, reach, skill, approach
The astonishing part of any creative art ( here refers as poetry ) is that an inspirational can come even from the strangest experiences or unthinkable sudden moments, where generally one cannot even think to reach.
